Nelson Pride is a group for locals and travellers of all genders and sexualities who would like to meet new people and be part of an LGBTQIA+ community. This is an 18+ group presently.
We have monthly meet-ups on the first Saturday of the month, and other less scheduled events as time permits.
Other helpful resources and communities include:
- Q-Youth is a Nelson based organisation that provides support, information, advocacy and education for LGBTQ+ young people and their friends, whanau and communities. https://qyouthnelson.org/
- Gender Minorities are the national peer-led transgender support and advocacy organisation in New Zealand. https://genderminorities.com/
- Agender NZ is a support and lobby organization for Transgender people including their families, friends and co workers. http://www.agender.org.nz/
We encourage an inclusive safe space. Currently our facebook page is a closed group as we develop a stronger foundation to the work we are doing locally. Our page which only allows members to see other members and their posts.
